Australia was held to 191 for 9 in 42.2 overs by Nahid Rana’s reply, who claimed 4 wickets for 41 runs in 10 overs before the match was cut short by rain.
Josh Inglis, Australia’s stand-in captain, chose to field first after winning the toss. Left-handed openers Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Shanto stabilized the innings with a 96-run combination for the second wicket, helping Bangladesh overcome Saif Hassan’s early dismissal for five.

Australia struggled to chase 285 due to the pitch’s fluctuations and Nahid Rana’s pace, which destroyed the middle order with 4 wickets for 41 runs. Wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey provided 47, while Cameron Green resisted with an undefeated 52 off 66 balls.
Mosaddek Hossain finished with economical figures of 2 for 37 in his 10 overs after applying pressure throughout the middle overs. Australia was bowled out for 191 in 42.2 overs when left-arm bowler Mustafizur Rahman finished the game with two wickets for 24 runs.
Bangladesh won by 86 runs using the DLS system after rain caused the game to conclude early. As a result, Bangladesh leads the series 1-0. The second ODI is set for June 11 at the same location.
