On day four, KL Rahul and Captain Shubman Gill then steadied the ship with an uninterrupted 174-run stand. Before his 238-ball vigil was stopped on 103, Gill recorded his fourth century of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, the joint-second-most ever in a Test series, while Rahul’s gutsy 220-ball 90 came to an end early on the last day.

In the World Test Championship (WTC) table for 2025–2027, neither team moved up nor down. After four games, with two victories, one defeat, and one tie, England remains in third place with a points percentage (PCT) of 54.17. However, they are currently on 26 points rather than 28 because they were docked two points for a slow over-rate offence at Lord’s. With a PCT of 33.33 (one win, two losses, and one tie), India remained in fourth place.
Australia top the table with three wins from three matches versus the West Indies, who are now last (sixth) among teams to have played a game in this cycle.
