IPL 2025 mega auction to be held on November 24, 25 in Jeddah.
The IPL 2025 super auction will take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is being hosted overseas for the second year in a row (2024 was in Dubai) and will coincide with the third and fourth days of India’s first Test against Australia in Perth.
By the deadline of November 4, 1574 players (1165 Indians and 409 foreigners) had registered for the auction, which would take place in the Abady Al Johar Arena (also known as Benchmark Arena). They include countries such as Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Scotland, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to Full Member Countries (excluding Pakistan).

Each team has a total purse of INR 120 crore to build their squads, but after the retention, the Punjab Kings have the most money left (INR 110.5 crore) to spend at the mega auction, having retained only two uncapped players – Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh – for a total of INR 9.5 crore. The Rajasthan Royals have the smallest purse of INR 41 crore after retaining a maximum of six players, like the Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR will have INR 51 crore to spend at the auction.

This year’s IPL allows clubs to keep up to six players, with a maximum of five capped and two uncapped.

- Jonny Bairstow was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for 6.75 crore ahead of IPL 2024.
- Devdutt Padikkal was bought by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for 7.75 crore ahead of IPL 2024.
- Veteran pacer Umesh Yadav was bought by Gujarat Titans (GT) for Rs 5.80 crore.
- Mayank Agarwal was retained by SRH for 8.25 crore and played only four games for them in IPL 2024.
- Prithvi Shaw was bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) last year for 8 crore.
