According to the reports, there was much debate over India’s tournament opener as the ICC wanted India to start off on June 2 but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said India cannot take part legally in a match till June 4 because of a Supreme Court order which states that there should be a 15-day gap between the IPL and other global events. Thus, everyone settled on June 5 as the date. The IPL 2019 will be ending on May 19.
