Two countries that have never participated in the FIFA World Cup will play in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The world’s largest football competition will begin in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in a little more than a year.
It will be the first to feature 48 teams, up from 32, and run from June 11 to July 19. More nations will be able to take in the spectacle thanks to the expansion, and two debutants booked their spots on Thursday.
Canada, Mexico and the United States of America have all qualified as hosts, with the expanded 48-team format opening up new opportunities to see more nations from different regions, as there will be 16 more teams in the finals to enjoy.
