Bruno Fernandes helps with a 2-1 win over Rangers!
Manchester United created close to a direct trip to the Europa League last 16 with a late winner from Bruno Fernandes against Rangers on Thursday. The Red Devils appeared to be in for further disappointment at Old Trafford when Cyriel Dessers equalised for an injury-ravaged Rangers in the 88th minute. However, Fernandes saved United’s blushes and maybe the playoff round by smashing home in stoppage time. “It was a victory that we truly needed at this moment,” remarked United manager Ruben Amorim. With one match remaining in the league phase, United moves up to fourth place.

The top eight will advance directly to the last 16, which may now be beyond Rangers, who drop to 13th. However, the Glasgow giants fought valiantly in the circumstances, as coach Philippe Clement had to call on two teenagers from the bench in the second half as his injury troubles worsened.
“I saw everybody gutted in the dressing room that we lost after playing that kind of game,” Clement told the crowd.”I am also very proud what the team did today, sticking to the plan with really young players coming on the pitch,”
