While co-hosts USA will kickstart the competition on June 1 against Canada, the final will be played in Barbados on June 29.
The International Cricket Council said on Friday that India and Pakistan will face off in the T20 World Cup 2024 at Eisenhower Park in New York on June 9.
The main event, which is scheduled to start on June 1, will be jointly hosted by the United States and the West Indies.

West Indies, who are also hosting the tournament, have been slotted alongside New Zealand and Afghanistan in Group C while Group D has the likes of Sri Lanka and South Africa.
Co-hosts USA will face Canada in the opening match of the tournament on June 1.
In T20 World Cups, the Men in Blue have dominated their neighbours. India has defeated its opponent six times (including a bowl-out victory in the 2007 edition) and only once in their seven encounters.

Twenty teams will compete for the coveted title in the shortest format for the first time in the tournament’s history. Four groups of five members each will be formed from the teams. In the Super Eight stage, the top two teams from each group move on, while the other teams are divided into two groups of four. The semifinals will thereafter be reached by the top two teams from each group.
England won the 2022 T20, becoming them the reigning champions.
