The career of Diego Maradona:
The left-footed Maradona, regarded as one of the best players of all time, started his career with Argentinos Juniors, before sealing a then-record $4 million move to Boca Juniors of Argentina. Maradona won the Argentine domestic league in his only season with Boca by scoring 28 goals in the club’s 40 appearances. Diego joined Barcelona for a then world-record fee of £ 5 million ($ 7.6 million) following an ill-fated World Cup in 1982 in which he was heavily billed.
The Argentine played 58 games for the Blaugrana, scoring 38 goals, including a special strike at Santiago Bernabeu, which saw him receive a standing ovation.
