FC Goa can take heart from their impressive performance in the previous game, besides their first win in the Hero ISL this season came against Mumbai City FC in Mumbai.
The Goa team has only three points at home in their four matches after losing three matches in a row but with Indian players like Robin Singh and Romeo Fernandes finally scoring, there is renewed hope. The duo scored their first goals of the campaign and set up a goal for another.
FC Goa also had their first victory of the season against Mumbai City FC. They will now need to win all their remaining fixtures to book a semi final spot. Mumbai City FC, despite their loss to Pune, are very much in the hunt and will look to make their semi-final bid stronger with a win at Fatorda.
Mumbai City have 11 away points in ISL 2016, the most by any side. In fact, they have won three matches away from home in ISL 2016, two more than what they managed in ISL 2014 and ISL 2015 combined.
Mumbai City FC have 15 points from 10 matches and are placed third behind league leaders Delhi Dynamos (17) and Kerala Blasters (15). However, teams like Atletico de Kolkata (13) and FC Pune City (12) can catch-up with them since they have a match in hand.

The second half has been all about corners and free kicks so far. The game hasn’t been as fluent as it was in the first half. Zico trying to increase his team’s potency in attack by bringing on Trindade and Joffre.
Mumbai City FC attacking more now. Diego Forlan managed to get to a ball that was passed into the box. The goalkeeper came and palmed it away. Before this Soni Norde made a promising run before taking a shot from just outside the box that soared over goal.
End to end now as both the teams having a go at each other’s defence. But quality in the fianl third has been absent and that has to be the reason why we haven’t seen a goal yet. Players are looking tired now and a goal might be the result of a mistake made by the defensive side.
Forlan lets fly with a left footed shot that has neither the power nor the direction to trouble Kattimani. At the other end of the pitch, Julio Cesar twinkle-toes his way past two Mumbai defences before trying to hoodwink yet another when a simple pass to an unmarked Joffre would have been much the better option.
Cafu tries to do something on his. He runs down the left and cuts inside to the right – like an inverse Arjen Robben – but his finish can’t mimic that of the great Dutchman. It dribbles wide.
