Team India’s 15-member team for the T20 World Cup 2021 was revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday. R Ashwin, the off-spinner, made his comeback to the white-ball side after a long layoff.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Shikhar Dhawan are among the roster’s notable omissions, while former captain MS Dhoni serves as a mentor in his first involvement with the national team since retiring last year, the BCCI announced. The T20 World Cup will be held across four venues in the UAE and Oman from October 17 to November 14. India’s first game is against Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai.
MS Dhoni was also named as the mentor for the team during the start of the tournament.

India’s 15-man squad:
Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (vc), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.
Standby players – Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.

The Super 12 round will begin on October 23 and conclude on November 8. The knockout stage of the T20 World Cup 2021 will begin on November 10 and end on November 14, with the final scheduled for November 14.
Kohli’s team will kick off their campaign in Dubai on October 24 against Pakistan in a Super12 match.
Apart from Pakistan, India is in Group 2 with Afghanistan and New Zealand, as well as two teams who advance from Round 1 of the event, which starts on October 17th.
