LeBron James has his 3rd triple-double in a Finals-clinching win in his career. That breaks a tie with Magic Johnson for the most all-time.
After winning their record-equalling NBA championship on Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers players made sure they had an awesome celebration. The Lakers crushed Miami Heat, 106-93, in Game 6, to carry the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy to Los Angeles for the first time since Kobe Bryant did so in 2010.
Even though the likes of J.R. With his mother, Gloria Marie James, LeBron James came into FaceTime, and Smith and Dwight Howard were busy broadcasting the team celebration live on Instagram. Reporters caught the 35-year-old chatting to his mother on the telephone as he puffed on a celebratory championship cigar.

After winning the 2020 NBA Finals, Reporters captured James on the floor of the Los Angeles Lakers’ locker room facing his mother, Gloria. With a Game 6 triple-double of 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, James helped capture the Lakers’ 17th NBA title, and his own fourth ring.

LeBron James picked up his fourth NBA Finals MVP on Sunday, after leading his side from the front against the resilient Miami Heat. The 35-year-old scored a 28-point triple-double (14 rebounds and 10 assists) in Lakers’ Game 6 win. The four-time NBA champion moved past NBA greats like Shaquille O’Neal, Magic Johnson and Tim Duncan (three each), and two behind the all-time record of six, held by NBA legend Michael Jordan.

Lakers vs Heat highlights:
From the first whistle, the Los Angeles Lakers blasted the Miami Heat out of the stadium. In nearly every area of the court, the Heat were outplayed, including a dismal Q2, where they lost 36-16. While Miami managed in the second half to cut the deficit, it was all a little too late for Jimmy Butler and co. Anthony Davis of the Lakers ended the game with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists. Rajon Rondo, meanwhile, came from the bench to score 19 points in just 30 minutes of play.
As for the Heat, Bam Adebayo led the scoring with 25 points, in otherwise an underwhelming performance from the team. Jimmy Butler managed just 12 points, 7 rebounds and eight assists.
Earlier this season, after James recorded a triple-double against Oklahoma City that made him the first player to get a triple-double against all 30 NBA teams, he shared a text exchange with his mother on Instagram.
Her mother Gloria was unable to attend the NBA Finals due to the restricted bubble environment. That didn’t stop her son, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, from making sure she was involved in the celebrations.
