MS Dhoni became the second wicketkeeper after Dinesh Karthik to reach the larndmark in Indian Premier League.
Rising Pune Supergiant player MS Dhoni became the second wicketkeeper to complete 100 dismissals in the IPL, reaching the landmark against Delhi Daredevils on Friday. Dhoni’s 100th victim was Shreyas Iyer, with the former taking his catch off Jaydev Unadkat’s bowling. Dinesh Karthik was the first wicketkeeper to effect over 100 dismissals in IPL.
Dhoni has played 129 matches for Chennai Super Kings. CSK was however suspended for two seasons in 2015 by the Supreme Court- appointed Justice RM Lodha panel due to a betting scam in 2013.
In 2016, he was bought by Rising Pune Supergiant for whom he has played 27 matches in two seasons so far.

Under his leadership, the Chennai based franchise also lifted the Champions League T20 trophy in 2010. The other major laurels under his belt include the winning the 2007 World Twenty 20 and the 2011 World Cup for India.
In the final over of Gujarat Lions’ innings, Basil Thampi was on strike against Jaydev Unadkat. The left-arm pacer bowled a slower and Thampi swung his bat wildly only to miss it. Karthik, at the non-striker’s end, wanted the strike in the last ball and set off.
But Dhoni collected the ball and fired a direct hit at the striker’s end to send Karthik back to the pavilion. The speed and precision of Dhoni’s throw was such that even Karthik’s desperate dive failed to save him from getting run out.
