For a few optimists in west London, a miracle is still possible for Fulham as they seek to stay up with the rope getting tighter and tighter. Fulham has already bottled their chance of staying up, and on multiple occasions, and they should start preparing for life in the second tier.
The 2-1 loss to Leeds United on 19th March was perhaps the best chance for Fulham to stake a serious claim for their survival. All looked set for the side to finally rise off the bottom three at the expense of Newcastle United. They had a great response to falling behind after Patrick Bamford’s goal and Joachim Andersen ensured they went to the break level at 1-1.
They should have done the business in the second half but it was Leeds United who took the initiative through Raphinha. That was the telling sign that their season will end in relegation and truly, in the four matches that have followed, they’ve managed just one point, and fell nine below the safe zone.

The latest defeat for Fulham came against Chelsea, 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Once again Fulham got the plaudits for good game management, but the opponent walked away with the points.
Even Scott Parker, in his post-match assurance stating that they can survive, looked feeble and laughable, with three of their remaining four opponents being teams directly above them in the standings and somehow involved in the relegation scrap.

Parker’s side is set to play Burnley next, then Southampton, Manchester United and finish the season against Newcastle United. SportyTrader will for sure have these and more football betting tips as the season draws to the proverbial business end.
In their remaining matches, Fulham can’t afford a loss, especially against Burnley. Their season will be over if they lose to the Clarets in the next game. The most Fulham can get in terms of points this season is 39, and a loss to Burnley will see the Clarets hit 39 points, which will see a great opportunity for the Cottagers to go up in smoke.
Southampton, their next opponents, needs one more win to seal their survival. Southampton are facing Liverpool next and though that may be a tricky game, they will still have the chance when they face Fulham afterward,
Fulham can perhaps bank on beating Manchester United in their penultimate game. Their hope will be based on United having then qualified for the Europa League final and secured the second spot thus resting key men.

If it so happens that they beat Manchester United to stay in the survival race, the final game against Newcastle, assuming they’ll also be in that race, will be a tough one for both sides. Newcastle United faces Leicester City on Tuesday and going to the game, they need four points to secure survival.
If Fulham pulls this one off and escapes the relegation trapdoor, it may go down as the biggest miracle in modern football. Scott Parker believes it is possible: “I know we can win four games and that is our aim. It would be some escape, but we’ve seen it before.
“People will laugh at their screens and think I’m living in cuckoo land – maybe I am. But until that curtain comes down we will see.” He said after the Chelsea loss.
