Tottenham is in talks to sell Cameron Carter-Vicker and will let him go permanently this week for £4million.
The center-back is on his fourth consecutive loan at a Championship club after spells at Swansea City, Ipswich Town and Sheffield United in the previous three seasons.
Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino used to speak highly of Carter-Vickers, who has been capped by the USA eight times but made just four appearances for Spurs.

Middlesbrough is among the Championship teams in contact with Spurs, although most of his suitors would prefer a loan or loan-to-buy deal that a permanent January deal.
Spurs want £4m this month for a player with eight full USA caps as well as extensive experience in England’s second tier.
There is also interest in him from the overseas club as the possibility grows that he will end his lengthy spell at Tottenham.
They broke the news in December that Carter-Vickers’ loan at Stoke was set to be terminated after he had lost his place in Michael O’Neill’s side.
