The Bangladesh perspective in the game:

Bangladesh team has relied on its three key batsmen, Tamim, Shakib, and Mushfiqur. Apart from them, only Litton Das has made a contribution of some value in the previous match.

All the players need to contribute and deliver a combined batting effort against Afghanistan to stay alive in the points table, as this is a winnable game for them and would get them one step closer to the top 4.

Soumya Sarkar also needs to convert his starts into big scores while the promotion of Shakib Al Hasan up in the batting order has been one of the highlights of the World Cup.

The Afghanistan perspective in the game:

Afghanistan has looked pretty with the bat in the previous game, habitually losing wickets at the end, Skipper Gulbadin Naib has done a good job filling into the shoes of the opener and has played some good strokes although it has been Rahmat Shah and Hasmatullah Shahidi who have done the bulk of the scoring by giving a strong fight to India in the last game.

Senior players like Asghar Afghan and Mohammad Nabi need to step up and deliver more often for the Afghans. The fact that Nabi did well in the last game against India has got to be a big boost for the team.

The Afghan batsmen though will have to focus on staying at the crease for the longer time to get a good result to the field and the score. Against England, they played out 50 overs for the first time in the world cup tournament.
