The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to welcome the most popular teams in the Indian Premier League back into the league. “The agenda of this upcoming Working Committee meeting is same as it was for the one that was called off in Kolkata, last August.(BCCI Meeting on October 18)

The main thing on the agenda will be discussion on the IPL Working Group’s report about the way forward for IPL-9. As of now, there is little or you can say no chance of termination for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals,” a top BCCI and IPL Governing Council member said.

The IPL Working Group had suggested fresh bidding for two new teams to make it an eight-team IPL which is a must from the perspective of broadcasters and sponsors.

It was also suggested that after CSK and RR complete their two-year suspension period as per Supreme Court-appointed Lodha Committee’s verdict, they will be reinducted into the cash-rich league to make it a 10-team affair.

“PS Raman is scheduled to attend the meeting and in case he has some prior commitments, someone else will attend the meeting,” TNCA secretary Kashi Viswanathan said.

Reports state that Chennai Super Kings are planning on having a grand entry to the league and are currently planning an event which will be themed around their massive fan base. The former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni, who is a part of RPS for the 10th season will also reportedly join the Chennai franchise again.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan are already in talks with a leading corporate that already has a stake in the league. This means that the Royals might return to the tournament with new co-owners. The corporate in question is willing to extend its stay in the IPL and hence is involving itself in the discussion with the management.

After eight successful years in the tournament, the two teams are expected to make a comeback in the year 2018. It is rumoured that the Royals will have a new name in the next edition of the IPL.
