The Athletic: Dylan Harper is making Spurs’ future look even brighter
Dylan Harper, a rookie for the San Antonio Spurs, moves quickly. Even in transition, though, he doesn’t jam on the gas pedal. He has a calm rhythm to his movements. Because a burst could happen at any time, he bounces as he dribbles, taking a deep breath with every pound. It’s a confident cadence.
The fourth quarter of Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves was one of the several instances from the Western Conference semifinals. Victor Wembanyama gave Harper an outlet throw, and he strolled up the right sideline, taking in the scenery. Ayo Dosunmu, a guard from Minnesota, leaped in front of Harper close to half court.

With Harper on the floor, San Antonio has outscored opponents by 73 points during these playoffs, including plus-13 in the Spurs’ 126-97 victory over the Timberwolves in Game 5.
At this level, Harper belongs. in crucial games, in the postseason, and in contests with the best players in the league. It’s evident in his composure. He can already tell when to accelerate because the game has slowed down enough. He is therefore quite at ease getting the ball off one rim and finishing at the other in a stubborn yet fluid manner.
