England have announced their provisional squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The teams for the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka next month, which consists of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), three Twenty20 matches, and a provisional squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly held by India and Sri Lanka in February and March, have been announced by the England Men’s selection panel.
Josh Tongue, a seamer from Nottinghamshire, has been chosen for the first time in the IT20 team.

Jofra Archer, a fast bowler from Sussex who is part of the provisional T20 World Cup squad, will not travel to Sri Lanka as he continues to recover with the England medical staff after suffering a strain to his left side during the third Ashes Test in Adelaide earlier this month. Brydon Carse, a seamer from Durham, is part of the teams visiting Sri Lanka.
