Scotland beats Denmark 4-2 to book first World Cup spot since 1998!
For the first time since 1998, Scotland has advanced to the World Cup finals following a thrilling 4-2 victory over Denmark, with the majority of the action occurring in the closing minutes.
Scotland has not qualified for the World Cup since 1998, despite qualifying for the previous two European Championships.
However, in a winner-take-all encounter in Group C, the Scottish team defeated a ten-man Danish team 4-2. Three minutes into the game, Scott McTominay scored with a bicycle kick, thrilling Scotland’s supporters at Hampden Park.

When Rasmus Hojlund of Denmark tied the score, the Scottish supporters’ initial applause was muted.
Denmark, who only needed to avoid defeat to make sure of their third successive World Cup finals appearance, were left crestfallen. They will now join 11 other teams that finished second in their groups in a playoff competition: Only four of these 12 teams will qualify for the World Cup.
