Gautam Gambhir has applied for the India head coach position, the 42-year-old opined that there was no bigger honour than coaching the national side on Sunday.
As rumours about who will lead Team India intensify, former batter Gautam Gambhir announced on Sunday that he would be interested in succeeding Rahul Dravid as captain of the team.
Gambhir is considered as one of the front-runners for the position when Dravid steps down at the conclusion of the T20 World Cup. Gambhir most recently guided Kolkata Knight Riders to their first Indian Premier League championship in ten years.
It is unclear if Gambhir has filed an application for the head coach position, which had a May 27 deadline.
