Leading scorer Donovan Mitchell (calf injury) missed the Cavaliers’ second straight game due to injury. Caris LeVert (knee) started the Game 4 defeat in Mitchell’s substitute. The Cavaliers held strong, taking the lead in the first half and maintaining a lead until Boston started to pull away in the middle of the fourth quarter.

The Celtics made 19 3-pointers and had a 52.5% shooting percentage from the field. With six different players scoring in double figures, the Celtics experienced a quiet game from Jaylen Brown (11 points).

Similar to Game 4 without Mitchell, the Celtics’ performance was below expectations, but they still prevailed to move to 8-2 in the series. In the conference finals, the top seed from the East will now face the victor of the Knicks vs. Pacers series.
