Mumbai Indians look for first away win against a struggling Punjab Kings side.
The Mumbai Indians will be aiming to improve their performance in the ongoing IPL 2024 tournament when they face off against the Punjab Kings on Thursday at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali. After a poor start to the league under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, MI managed to win two consecutive matches, but unfortunately, they suffered their fourth loss at home against Chennai Super Kings on April 14th. Although Mumbai Indians still have eight more games to play, with 16 more points up for grabs, they need to find consistency soon before losing becomes a habit. Despite their slow start, Mumbai Indians still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs, but they need to perform consistently in the upcoming matches.

In the match, Chennai Super Kings batted first and posted a huge total of 206 for 4 in 20 overs. While Ajinkya Rahane got out early, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube scored 69 and 66 runs respectively. CSK skipper MS Dhoni also struck 20 runs in just 4 balls to take his team to 206.
During the chase, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma started off well, but the middle order failed to deliver, throwing their wickets away. Rohit Sharma went on to score 105 runs, but it was not enough to take Mumbai Indians to victory as they fell short by 20 runs in the end.
