The task looked even more daunting when they lost three wickets for just 59 runs. However, with two days remaining in the Test match and rain predicted in Wellington, the Black Caps and their fans still hope to achieve their biggest fourth-innings score against Australia. This dream was kept alive thanks to an unbeaten 52-run partnership between Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell, which lifted the team’s score to 3-111 at the stumps.

Ravindra, who made a name for himself during the recent ODI World Cup that Australia won in India, scored his maiden Test century last month against South Africa at Mount Maunganui, eventually making 240 runs. The 24-year-old southpaw showed remarkable composure and responded well to his first-innings duck and some fiery fast bowling early in today’s innings. He scored his half-century in his first outing against Australia, with an impressive pull shot off Mitchell Starc.
