“We may have lost the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup, but we won hearts by winning 10 matches in a row. I am confident that India will lift the 2024 T20 World Cup under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in Barbados,” said Shah.

Mumbai Indians’ decision to replace Rohit Sharma as captain will not have any impact on Team India. He is still the first choice for captaincy at the T20 World Cup 2024.

During the ODI World Cup, Rohit’s form picked up while Hardik suffered another major injury, which kept him out of action since then. However, Shah stated that Hardik will still be the vice-captain at the T20 World Cup, saying, “Hardik got injured during the ODI World Cup, so who else would we hand over the captaincy to? How Rohit batted against Afghanistan; I don’t think we should question the decision.”

Furthermore, Rahul Dravid will be the coach of the team at the World Cup.
