Men of England: 17–16 Australia (OT) Hesson, scored a thrilling overtime winner to give England the gold. Australia earned the first point in the extra frame, sending the hosts there.
However, England won the race to the two-point line and snatched a surprising victory thanks to Hesson’s lethal corner kick. Both teams had slim leads at that point in the tough match, but neither was able to score in the remaining time.

Before Hesson’s clinching shot from beyond the arc, the Australians stole a single. He scored six points to lead England in scoring, while Kayne Henry, Orlan Jackman, and Jamell Anderson each added four. England displayed its customary defensive vigilance to find a solution.

Women in England, 13–14 Canada
In the Women’s Final, England was denied right before overtime appeared to be certain. With 2.4 seconds left, a Shanice Beckford-Norton two-pointer tied the game, but dangerous woman Te-Biasu managed to make a last-second basket to give Canada the victory. Since it was so late, it was determined that she had time to fire her shot after a review of the play by the referees.

Although Beckford-shot Norton’s offered Canada optimism, it was not to be. Canada had edged a tiny advantage after England had worked hard and maintained an early lead.
The men’s and women’s wheelchair finals immediately preceded the non-disabled athletes, with full crowds present as Australia’s men edged past Canada 11-9, then Canada’s women beat Australia 14-5.
