The Premier League season has entered its final month with Chelsea in a strong position to finish in the top four, although there is still work to do.

For most, the Premier League season is down to three games, with Chelsea still in a solid position to finish in the top four, albeit there is still work to be done. We examine the various scenarios for Champions League qualification.

With their win over Leeds, Arsenal reduced the distance on third-placed Chelsea. Following Wolves’ defeat, the Gunners are currently only one point behind us in fourth place. Tottenham, the other top-four contender, won a creditable draw at Anfield on Saturday evening, keeping the gap between us and them at five points.

The match between Tottenham and Arsenal takes place on Thursday, the day after we fly to Leeds. If we win at Elland Road and Tottenham loses to Arsenal, we will finish in the top four. Due to our considerably superior goal difference, the same may very probably be said if we draw at Leeds and Arsenal win.

If we lose at Leeds and Tottenham wins, we may be in fifth place by the time we return to Premier League action, with both north London clubs playing before us. Our fate, however, would remain in our own hands.
