NBA: Stephen Curry Makes History by making a 3-pointer record

Stephen Curry set an NBA record for the most career 3-point shots made in front of a Madison Square Garden crowd on Tuesday night.

The Golden State Warriors’ 33-year-old point guard faced the New York Knicks with only two 3-point attempts remaining to break former NBA star Ray Allen’s career 3-point record of 2,973.

Following the feat, the Warriors announced on social media, “Stephen Curry is officially the greatest shooter this game has ever seen.”

With two 3-pointers in the first quarter, the two-time MVP and three-time champion passed Allen as the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers.

After less than two minutes, Curry swished his first shot, a 29-foot bomb from the top of the key. He missed his second effort from downtown, but the Warriors got the ball down to Andrew Wiggins in the post five minutes later.

To the joy of the 20,000 in attendance, Wiggins soon found Curry, who bounced out beyond the 3-point arc from the free-throw line and launched the record-breaking shot from the right-wing that hit nothing but net.
