Wheelchair Basketball:

Canada’s women’s wheelchair basketball team will play the United States in a crucial quarterfinal at 12:30 p.m. JST / 11:30 p.m. ET (Monday night). The last time these two countries faced off, Canada won the gold medal in a thrilling 67-64 finish in the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games.

In the group stage in Tokyo, Canada went 3-1, while the Americans went 2-2. The United States is the defending Paralympic champion (winning gold in three of the previous four games), while Canada is hoping to return to the top of the podium for the first time since 2004.

Para Athletics 

In his debut Paralympic Games, Zachary Gingras (Markham, ON) will be racing for a podium in the men’s T38 400m final, scheduled for 7:31 p.m. JST / 6:31 a.m. ET. The 20-year-old set a new personal best in the heat.

Marissa Papaconstantinou (Toronto, ON) is set for her first race in Tokyo, the women’s T64 200m heats taking place at 10 a.m. JST / 9 p.m. ET (Monday night). The final is scheduled for Tuesday evening in Tokyo.
