Today NorthEast United FC need to arrest their poor run of form or risk missing out on a place in the semi-finals of the Hero Indian Super League. Mumbai City FC have looked strong on their away games and have arrived in Guwahati after securing a precious point against defending champions Chennaiyin FC with a stunning late goal from Leo Costa. Mumbai City FC have collected eight points away from home this season and it shows just how much they have improved over the years. Mumbai City are placed second with 12 points from eight matches and will jump to the top with a positive result against NorthEast United. Since Goalkeeper Subrata Paul, one of the most impressive goalkeepers in this edition of the ISL, was injured in the last game and his absence could hurt the hosts. Subrata has made 24 saves, just two less than Edel Bete this season, and has three clean sheets to his credit.

A chance was created when,NorthEast United’s Alfaro received a ball inside the box from Katsumi, who did well to manage a to steer clear of the defendor blocking him. Alfaro went for a first time volley which was on target. Mumbai goalkeeper Albino Gomes made a sensational diving save and kept the thunderous volley out. NorthEast seem to have found their feet and that is not good for Mumbai City FC.

Soni Norde came charging at the keeper who had the ball at his feet. Wellington Gomes acoided Norde’s first challenge but the Haitian came back and took the ball away from the goalkeeper. Jackichand Singh did not wait for a touch when the ball came to him and took the shot straightaway. Jackichand to rush in and sliding the ball into the net and give Mumbai the lead. what a freaky fight was that when, Sena Ralte with an ugly challenge on Katsumi, the Japanese midfielder is livid and pushes him, with Zokora alwhat a big fight was that when,so shoving Ralte to the floor. The benches storm the field to restore calm, with both coaches also getting involved. Sena Ralte and Katsumi get a yellow card, with Zokora getting one too. Ugly scenes.
A superb play from mumbai fc when, Forlan with a stunning through ball to Defederico running down the middle – the Argentine does superbly to get past his marker and then produces an ingenious touch to nearly score from a narrow angle.
