IPL 2017 Live Cricket Score of the cricket match between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore
Punjab come in good spirits having won their opener against Rising Pune Supergiant in Indore. On the other hand, RCB, who lost to defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in tournament opener, found their momentum back as they defeated Delhi Daredevils at home. A win tonight for the third placed Punjab, can see them maintain their position on the IPL table.
RCB have won the toss and they have opted to bat first. Big news from the Team is that AB De Villiers is back for RCB but there is no Gayle in the team.
Kings XI Punjab: Hashim Amla, Manan Vohra, Wriddhiman Saha, Glenn Maxwell (capt), David Miller, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Mohit Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, Varun Aaron, T Natarajan
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Shane Watson (capt), Vishnu Vinod, AB de Villiers, Kedar Jadhav, Mandeep Singh, Stuart Binny, Pawan Negi, Iqbal Abdulla, Tymal Mills, Yuzvendra Chahal, Billy Stanlake
On head-to-head basis, Kings XI Punjab have won 10 times and lost 8 in their 18 meetings. The last time, it was a shortened 15-over match. RCB knocked down 211. Tonight, they’re batting first
Here Shane Watson and Vishnu Vinod come to open for RCB. Where punjab start with the spin and Axar Patel has the ball.
BOWLED 1st WICKET GONE! Watson has chopped it on. Big breakthrough early on for KXIP. Tried to chop it off but the ball slides on and hurts the stumps. Too close to the stumps for a cut.
SIX! Ab De Villiers is in the house! It was a full one from Sandeep outside off and De Villiers hits it flat over long on for a maximum.
WICKET! Vishnu Vinod c Maxwell b Sandeep Sharma. A short one for which, he tries to pull, and it’s straight down the throat of Glenn Maxwell.
OUT! Kedar Jadhav lbw Varun Aaron. And there is that wicket! That seems a close one and the umpire decides to raise his finger, a big, big, wicket.
SIX! And that is why they need to stay in the middle. Mandeep pulls a short one and it keeps climbing until it hits the roof and falls right back down! The next one is hit fine for four.
50 up for RCB and they have taken nearly 10 overs to get there. Either De Villeirs or Mandeep Singh will be looking to shift gears now and, from the shots that are being attempted, Mandeep is the man.
WICKET GONE! Mandeep Singh c Saha b Axar Patel, what a catch! Mandeep tries to pull a short ball and it takes a thick top edge and goes straight up. Saha seemed to have lost it but dives at the last second and plucks it almost out of thin air. Outstanding reflexes from the Indian Test keeper.
Fifty for Ab De Villiers and he brings it emphatically with another maximum. He has been brought in place of Chris Gayle and what a decision that has turned out to be.
Ab De Villiers smashes 19 runs off the 19th over off which includes two sixes and a boundary. One of the two maximums resulted in the ball going over the roof and out.
Here is how the world reacted to his innings:

End of the innings and end of the Ab de Villiers show…..that was aewsome. Mohit Sharma did a good job in last over until De Villiers went after the last two balls hitting both for six and putting the last one out of the ground for good measure. The South African’s big hitting has helped RCB to a respectable total of 148/4.
Manan Vohra and Hashim Amla start the chase for KXIP, Billy Stanlake the man with the new ball for RCB.
SIX!! Banged in short and Manan Vohra pulls or slightly pulls and there is enough pace on the ball to go flying for a massive six
50 up for KXIP and they have done in half the amount of balls that RCB took. At the moment, they are cruising. Need 99 to win off 90 balls.
GONE! Manan Vohra lbw Tymal Mills. And there’s the breakthrough for RCB! Full, angled at middle stump and Vohra is plumb.
OUT! Axar Patel b Yuzvendra Chahal. Axar tries to play around a googly, misses it completely and the ball takes off the bails on off stump an middle. RCB need much more of these.
SIX! Maxwell announcing himself now, Mills bowls it outside off seeing Maxwell making room, the latter had to reach for it but still manages to hit it for a maximum getting down on one knee.
50 up for Hasheem Amla and he has brought that with a boundary. The Proteas have shone today at Indore. RCB need 34 off 49.
Maxwell is in a hurry to finish this match. KXIP now need just 6 to win off a whopping 38 balls
Maxwell wins it with a SIX!! Kings XI Punjab beat RCB by eight wickets. That is an absolute hammering for RCB. Ab de Villiers got them to a decent total but Punjab never looked they would face any difficutly in chasing it. Amla was the perfect spoil to Glenn Maxwell’s swashbuckling innings.
