On the contrary, Delhi who are struggling to make play-offs since 2012 would be for a turnaround under Zaheer Khan this season. It will be about Delhi’s bowling and RCB’s batting as the two teams clash in the second match of the Saturday double-header.

RCB XI – Gayle, Watson, Mandeep, KM Jadhav (wk), STR Binny, Vishnu Vinod, P Negi, YS Chahal, TS Mills, Iqbal Abdulla, B Stanlake

Delhi Daredevils’ Playing XI – SW Billings, AP Tare, SV Samson, KK Nair, RR Pant (wk), CR Brathwaite, CH Morris, PJ Cummins, A Mishra, Z Khan (c), S Nadeem

Shane Watson-led RCB have won the toss and they’re batting first. Zaheer Khan doesn’t mind that, DD looked to bowl first, he says.

Quite a start this for RCB. 10 runs have come off the first over bowled by Zaheer Khan. Shane Watson and Chris Gayle opening for RCB. Gayle storms starts in the Zaheerv khan 2nd Over.

A big WICKET! High full toss from Morris and Gayle miscues it. Samson takes a brilliant catch running backwards to get rid of the dangerous opener. RCB 26/1

Early spin! With new batsman in the middle, Zaheer introduces Shahbaz Nadeem into the attack. Good time for him to bowl and give the captain more options at the death

2nd WICKET for DELHI! Over ambitious hit by Mandeep as he drags one back on to his stumps. RCB had got the two boundaries in the over, and the right-hander could have avoided the cut

3rd WICKET Gone! Nadeem gest the big fish in his scalps.Watson dances down the track, misses and Pant takes the bails off in a flash. RCB 55/3 in the ninth over of the innings

Top start for Delhi Daredevils as RCB struggle to 61/3 at the half-way mark way. Not this kind of start hosts would have hoped for after Gayle and Watson Wickets.

Kedar Jadhav has gone into overdrive against Amit Mishra. He then takes two runs and hits another six. 20 runs have come off Amit Mishra’s over. 6, 4, 4

50 for Kedar Jadhav and he is running wild here. He has raced to his half century in less than 25 balls.

WICKET GONE!! Stuart Binny c Billings b Zaheer. It was full on to the leg stump. Binny is unable to keep it low and it carries to Sam Billings at deep midwicket.

RUN OUT! Vishnu Vinod gone the very next and he has been run out by a very good piece of fielding.

WICKET OUT! Kedar Jadhav 69 c Morris b Zaheer. Jadhav was going after everything at this point. This time though, Zaheer bowls it full on off, Jadhav lofts it but it goes straight up and Morris has a simple catch.

ANOTHER WICKET GONE! Pawan Negi b Morris goes straight through and rattles the stumps. Negi had hit Morris for a six just the previous ball. This time, he makes room for himself and Morris spots that and bowls it accordingly, the off and middle stump are sent flailing away.

OUT! Tymal Mills dismissed by Morris and that also marks the end of RCB’s innings. After 20 overs, RCB have scored 157/8. It would have been much worse than that had Kedar Jadhav stuck around but there are enough signs here to show that Delhi Daredevils may be one of the best bowling sides in the tournament.

                                         Delhi Daredevils Batting Performances:

Billy Stanlake starts the attack for RCB, Sam Billings and Aditya Tare open for Delhi Daredevils. Boundary off the fifth ball and that’s 9 runs off the first over.

1st WICKET GONE! Aditya Tare b Mills. Tymal Mills brought into the attack and there is the impact. Tare beaten for pace and the ball goes straight through and crashes on to the stumps.

2nd WICKET! Karun Nair b Stanlake, straight through and the bails are flying. Stanlake comes roaring back and takes a big wicket. That ball went at almost 144 kph and Nair had no clue about it.

Sam Billings reverse sweeps Chahal for a six. That is an exhibition of the brute power that Billings has in his hands. DD now need 105 to win off 78 balls.

OUT! Sam Billings falls to Iqbal Abdullah, DD are 55/3. Abdullah tosses it up and it moves away outside off, Billings slashes it away and Stanlake runs to his left from backward point to catch it.

SIX! Rishabh Pant smashes the first ball he faces for a maximum! Abdulla bowls it outside off and smashes it over midwicket. To understand the pressure that the bowler is now in, he bowls two wides after that.

OUT! Sanju Samson c Binny, b Stanlake. That had to happen at some point. Samson was looking to free himself and ends up paying the price. Stuart Binny takes an easy catch at long-on.

100 up for DD and it is Rishabh Pant who is powering them to victory here. He has scarred Iqbal Abdulla with that first ball six and he is now bowling him only outside off, Pant, replying in sixes and fours.

OUT! Chris Morris LBW Abdulla. A big wicket this as Morris can hit big shots. This one doesn’t turn and crashes straight on to Morris’ pads.

OUT! Carlos Brathwaite b Yuzvendra Chahal. Brathwaite misses it completely as he tries to pull it square and the ball crashes on to the stumps. He had been denied a clear LBW just the previous ball but there is no margin for doubt on this one.

OUT! Pat Cummins b Watson. Cummins hit Watson for a six off the previous one but this time he hits it straight to the stumps.

50 for Rishabh Pant, what an innings this has been from the youngster. Wickets have fallen all around him and but he has stood strong and led the Delhi reply.

OUT! Rishabh Pant b Pawan Negi. That has to seal it now for RCB. Pant goes for the sweep, misses it completely and the ball crashes on to the stumps. What an innings this has been from the youngster.

UT! Shahbaz Nadeem c&b Pawan Negi. Nadeem hits it high and Negi calls for it and takes it comfortably.

Mishra hits it to long on and that’s that the end of the Game!! RCB have won by 15 runs, a crucial win for the home side.

What a dramatic turn of events for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the end! After a heroic batting performance from Kedar Jadhav, RCB appeared to be short of runs but the bowlers always kept the home team in the hunt with frequent wickets backed by the fans, who kept cheering the team throughout the game!
