Calderon says new Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho wanted to sign Bale during his tenure at Manchester United and reckons he would want him now he is at Spurs.

“Well it wouldn’t be a bad solution,” Calderon told Sky Sports News. “I know that Jose wanted him. I remember him saying in 2017 that if Bale was in the exit door, he will be waiting for him on the other side.

“He tried to sign him for Man United but at the time he saw his contract extended at Real Madrid. But now is a different moment and maybe.”
