TATA IPL 2026: The much-awaited IPL 2026 retention day is done, and now the focus will be on the IPL 2026 mini-auction. It will take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.

All ten teams confirmed their retained players before the auction, and the player retention window for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season closed on November 15, 2025.

A total of 173 players, including 49 foreign players, have been retained across all teams. There will be 77 player slots up for auction, with a total purse of ₹237.55 crore.

The Kolkata Knight Riders would have the biggest purse in the group going into the auction—₹64.3 crore—to fill a maximum of 13 positions, with six spaces available overseas. With ₹43.4 crore, the Chennai Super Kings would have the second-largest budget to fill a maximum of nine spots.
