Lionel Messi would reportedly rather sign Neymar than Lautaro Martinez.
Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi would reportedly prefer to rekindle his partnership with Neymar than for the club to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan in the summer.
A club source reportedly told Spanish Radio station Cadena Ser: ‘If he had to choose between Lautaro and Neymar, it’s obvious Leo Messi prefers the Brazilian. Neymar was at Barcelona between 2013-2017, and enjoyed success alongside Messi and Luis Suarez, scoring 105 goals.
He moved to PSG for a world-record fee, but in recent months Barca has been searching for a long-term substitute for Suarez with a stunning transfer back to the Nou Camp.

He will however take a spectacular £26million pay cut to make the move, with PSG expected to give the Brazilian £44 m a year to persuade him to stay in Paris. Barcelona is also related to Lautaro Martinez but there are concerns about their finances due to the coronavirus pandemic.
With the club now offering Inter the likes of Nelson Semedo and Carles Alena as part of a deal, buying out his £97 m release clause seems out of the question.
With Neymar and Martinez both high on the list of transfer targets, but possibly without the money to get them both, chiefs in Barcelona appear to have a decision to make.
Messi isn’t part of the group’s transfer process, but the star will likely be consulted on the matter. If he prefers Neymar, Martinez, who is keen for a move to the LaLiga club, would be bad news.
