Was it ever going to be anyone else? Erling Haaland scores the Bundesliga’s first post coronavirus goal.
Borussia Dortmund and Schalke kicked off the post coronavirus era of football, and it was none other than Erling Haaland that got football’s new dawn off to a smashing start.
Schalke started the first-half on a positive note, however, Dortmund’s strong pressing made life tough for the Schalke players. Dortmund did get a couple of early chances only but failed to hit the target.
In other matches, Freiburg also took a first-half lead Manuel Guide opened the scoring for the visitors against Red Bull Leipzig. Wolfsburg scored on the brink of first-half with Renato Steffen putting the ball inside the net against Augsburg at the WWK Arena.

He scored on his Bundesliga debut and also on his German Cup debut. The Norwegian bagged another on his Champions League debut. Now on his debut in a Revierderby debut, he has scored another.
Perhaps what makes this goal a little more special than any of the others, is not that it’s a derby or even a personal milestone for the youngster.
