For the first time since 2016, RCB will advance straight to the final on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kings will face the champion of Friday’s Gujarat Titans vs. Mumbai Indians game, with the winners securing the other spot in the title decider. Although the Kings had successfully defended 111 at this location in April, it seemed impossible to pull off another victory.
The exception was Phil Salt, whose unbeaten 56 from 27 balls made up his fastest IPL fifty and did the heavy lifting as RCB reached 106-2 and Tuesday’s final. However, it was Rajat Patidar who closed out the match in style, clearing the ropes from the final delivery of Musheer Khan’s 10th over to wrap up a gigantic victory.
The ex-South African batter, who spent some memorable seasons at RCB, showed up in a video shared by the official broadcaster. In the clip, he looked super excited and said he showed his support for Rajat Patidar’s side. More importantly, he made his loyalty very clear, saying the 2025 season could be the one for RCB. His exact words: “This year is their time.”
