While Jasprit Bumrah was unable to recuperate from a back spasm suffered during the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney, Mitchell Starc withdrew due to an ankle injury and personal reasons.
Notably, Australia has been hit the hardest as a team, with five players who were originally named to the squad for the blockbuster event ruled out. Prior to Mitchell Starc, injuries forced Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh, and Josh Hazlewood to withdraw.
