Ind vs Eng 2025: Suryakumar Yadav has been selected captain of Team India for the Twenty20 series against England. Mohammed Shami was included in the squad for the forthcoming Twenty20 International series against England, marking his first appearance for the Indian team since 2023. Rishabh Pant was left out of the Indian squad, and Dhruv Jurel was brought in as Sanju Samson’s backup wicketkeeper.

On November 19, 2023, Shami last played for India in the ODI World Cup final against Australia. He would subsequently have surgery after sustaining a heel injury during the competition, which would have prevented him from playing in the T20 World Cup last year and the IPL 2024. During his recuperation, the pacer would experience knee swelling, which prevented him from playing in the home Test series between Bangladesh and New Zealand.
