WTC 2025: South Africa beat Pakistan by 2 wickets and lead the series 1-0.

South Africa has qualified for their first World Test Championship final. Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen’s ninth-wicket stand helped South Africa chase down the difficult target of 148  runs.

According to the WTC PCT, South Africa now has the highest Points Percentage System (PCT) of 66.67, ranking first among the nine main cricket-playing nations. In the 11 Tests played during the WTC cycle, South Africa has won seven, lost three, and drawn one.

They are followed by Australia, with a PCT of 58.89. The Australians played 15 matches in the current WTC cycle, winning nine, losing four, and drawing two.

In the third position are India, who have a PCT of 55.88 and 114 points. They played 17 Tests, wherein they won 9, lost 6, and 2, resulting in a draw.

India’s current match and the Sydney Test against Australia are their final two games in the current cycle. At the same time, Australia has two more matches against Sri Lanka following the completion of BGT. India, led by Rohit Sharma, must win the remaining matches to go to the WTC final without relying on other results; if they lose both, they will be eliminated.

However, if they draw one of the Tests and win the other, Australia will need to either lose one Test against Sri Lanka in their forthcoming series or win by no more than 1-0.
