Umran Malik, the fastest Indian bowler currently, has made headlines with his ability to bowl over 150 km.
Although Umran and the LSG speedy are the only Indian bowlers to have recorded deliveries exceeding 155 kmph in the league’s 17 seasons, the speedster’s 155.8 kmph effort puts him sixth on the list of fastest-ever deliveries delivered in IPL history. Mayank has only done it once thus far, while Umran has done it twice.

Bairstow was dismissed by Delhi’s home circuit representative Mayank Yadav, ending the potentially dangerous opening stand. Immediately striking about the bowler was his sheer speed. Mayank often reached above 145 km/h and even broke the 150 km/h mark a few times.
Mayank proceeded to remove Jitesh Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh, totally derailing the run chase. On his IPL debut, he would end with figures of 4-0-27-3, earning the title of Man of the Match. In addition, he bowled the fastest ball of the 2024 Indian Premier League, clocking in at 155.8 km/h according to the speed guns.
