Barcelona’s home kit for the upcoming 2017/18 season has been ‘leaked’ by FootyHeadlines.
The new design will be the first that features sponsorship from Japanese company Rakuten, who will displace former sponsor Qatar Airways.
The deal, which is set to run for four years, is worth €55m-a-year with bonuses of €1.5m and €5m if Barcelona secure La Liga or Champions League titles.
In total the Catalan club will net €220m over four years, making it the second biggest sponsorship deal of all-time behind Manchester United’s with Chevrolet, which is worth €71m-per-year.
In spite of early reports that suggested Barca would ‘go back to basics’ with their upcoming home shirt, they have continued to steer away from the traditional symmetrical stripes by using irregular vertical stripes.
The kit will still be designed by Nike and will feature a yellow collar complete with blue shorts and socks.
Barca are still very much in the hunt for La Liga title this season, sitting in second just two points behind arch-rivals Real Madrid who have a game in hand.
