KL Rahul to captain Team India in ODIs against South Africa 🚨

India is all set to play a three-match T20I and ODI series along with a two-match Test series as part of their WTC cycle.

In the forthcoming tour of South Africa, Team India will be captained by Rohit Sharma in the Test series, while KL Rahul will assume leadership for the ODI portion of the trip and Suryakumar Yadav will captain the T20I team.

For the South Africa series, the selectors were eager to give Rohit command of the T20I team as well. However, Rohit, who was participating in the discussion via video conference from England, expressed his desire to take a vacation from the condensed forms. Rohit was supposed to captain the side in the Twenty20 Internationals, according to a previous version of this article.

Sanju Samson has been picked for the ODI team. Rajat Patidar, who recovered from injury, finds a place in the Indian ODI squad.

Returning to the Test team for Shreyas Iyer. Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara, meantime, had no place. The Indian selection committee chose Iyer over Ajinkya Rahane for the Test match because Rahane had returned to the Indian squad following Iyer’s injury. The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and the selection committee believed that Iyer needed to return to the Indian team now that he is fit again.

The Indian Test lineup also included R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Shami.

The selection for the Indian T20I team is Kuldeep Yadav.
