The incident occurred in the 25th over of Sri Lanka’s innings, when Shakib Al Hasan had just dismissed Samarawickrama, who was caught close to the rope by Mahmudullah.
Angelo Said it was disgraceful from Shakib & Bangladesh. If they want to play cricket like that, there is something wrong drastically. Just disgraceful. Up to today I had a lot of respect for Shakib, but he lost all.#AngeloMathews #SLvsBAN #BANvsSLpic.twitter.com/xrJifNyhzF

Mathews walked in slowly, then battled with his helmet when the strap broke just as he was about to take guard.
Shakib and the Bangladesh side requested for a “timed out” dismissal as he signaled to the dressing room for a new helmet, and the umpires upheld the plea, much to Mathews’ chagrin.
Mathews was seen deep in conversation with Bangladesh and the umpires, but the appeal was not dropped, and Mathews was forced to return disappointed.
Angelo Mathews said you respect people who respect you. Bangladesh first has to respect cricket and then demand respect Well said, Mathews
