The 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup kicked out on October 5 in Ahmedabad with a match between defending champion England and 2019 losing finalist New Zealand.

The 50-over event will feature ten teams, each of which will play each other once in a round-robin group stage style. The top four teams on the points table after the 45 group stage matches will proceed to the semifinals, which will be placed on November 15 and 16. The final will be held on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
