Steve Smith has now become the No. 1 Test Batsman.
In the ICC Test rankings announced on Wednesday, India captain Virat Kohli moved to fourth place, while Australia batter Steve Smith recovered the top spot.

Kohli has 814 points in the World Test Championship final against New Zealand, which begins on Friday at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton.
Smith, who claimed the top spot for the first time since the Boxing Day Tests last year, takes over from New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who is set to lead his team in the WTC final.

In the Test bowling rankings, senior India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin continued to occupy second place (850 points), behind Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins (908 points).

The very first Test between South Africa and the West Indies at St Lucia was also included in the rankings update. Quinton de Kock is now tied for 12th place with Cheteshwar Pujara, while his compatriot Adrian Markram has moved up two places to 14th.
