On January 3, 2021, players from the Indian Cricket Team and support personnel underwent an RT-PCR Test for Covid-19. The Bcci said in its media statement that all samples returned negative findings.

India Vice-Captain Rohit, Shaw, Pant, Gill, and Saini’s visit to a restaurant on Friday was blown out of proportion after a fan reported in a series of tweets that he had paid the Indian players’ bill at the restaurant. He also said he ordered more food so that he could watch the players eat in the restaurant. He went on to say that Pant had welcomed him.

The Australian media on Sunday claimed that the fourth Test in Brisbane has been jeopardized as the tourists are reluctant to travel there in view of stricter quarantine rules.
