College football is exciting for plenty of reasons. Although this NCAA season is unlike any season we’ve seen before, watching football’s future stars represent their school and showcase their talent is still top-tier entertainment.
Fans may not be able to support their teams from the bleachers, but college football is bound to provide numerous dazzling highlights and thrilling games, and you can expect the most from these top teams that will surely put out a show every game:
1) Alabama Crimson Tide:
Alabama’s dominance over the SEC remains unfaltering. With Nick Saban remaining at the helm and starting quarterback Mac Jones – who’s being touted the next Joe Burrow – taking over the offense, the Crimson Tide shows no signs of slowing down.
As of now, there seem to be no immediate challengers to Alabama’s powerhouse squad, and it would probably take a game of perfect football before another team beats the Crimson Tide.
2) Notre Dame Fighting Irish:
The Fighting Irish have managed to maintain their consistency thanks in no small part to quarterback Ian Book’s decision to play in his final year of eligibility for Notre Dame. Of course, the Irish are also boasting a solid core which includes seniors Robert Hainsey, Tommy Kraemer, and Liam Eichenberg.
Coach Brian Kelly’s squad is on its way to a playoff berth, and the Fighting Irish has proven its spot at the top of the food chain by methodically trouncing each team it plays.
3) Clemson Tigers:
Travis Etienne and Trevor Lawrence returned to anchor the Clemson offense, but the Tigers were facing uncertainty as there were definitely holes that they needed to fill. Fortunately for Clemson, the squad’s youngsters are showing enthusiasm and are proving their talent.
Despite the loaded schedule that Clemson has, the team still managed to sit with just one loss in its record, and once it has its eyes set on the prize, the Tigers will definitely be a scary team to face.
4) Ohio State Buckeyes:
Although the Big Ten almost didn’t push through withholding the 2020 season this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ohio State Buckeyes remained focused and have been a threat since the Big Ten voted to proceed with the season.
With Justin Fields running the offense and showing his potential as an NFL franchise quarterback, Ohio State is well on its way to the playoffs and it’s not unlikely that they finish with a perfect record, despite missing a significant chunk of the team due to COVID-19.

5) Texas A&M Aggies:
Texas A&M is not quite up there with the top teams in college football, but should an upset happen, they’re one of the teams who could pose a threat in the playoff.
The Aggies offense headlined by QB Kellen Mond is not always consistent, but they can move the ball fluidly and score explosively once they’re in the zone. Plus, Texas has improved on the other side of the ball as well, which allows them to dominate the competition through stifling defense.
6) Florida Gators:
Kyle Trask’s rise from relative obscurity to stardom has been on of the most exciting storylines for Florida in the past few years. The SEC no longer boasts of the star power it once had at the quarterback position, leaving Trask at the top of the field.
With Coach Dan Mullen getting more experience with the program, Florida’s unpredictable offense just needs to find the consistency to solidify its position as a threat to the rest of the SEC.
7) BYU Cougars:
The Cougars defense may not be on par with that of the other teams, but BYU’s offense more than makes up for it. Head coach Kalani Sitake’s squad boasts of a talented quarterback trio in Zach Wilson, Jaren Hall, and Baylor Romney. Senior Matt Bushman at tight end is also on pace to break school records at his position.
8) Cincinnati Bearcats:
Coach Luke Fickell’s Cincinnati squad just came off back-to-back 11-win seasons and has a shot at finishing with an undefeated record this year. The deep and talented roster’s balanced approach should be enough for the team to return to the AAC Championship.
9) Northwestern Wildcats:
The Wildcats hold a solid 6-1 record thanks to its lockdown defense. Northwestern’s veteran linebackers and talented defensive line pose an imminent threat to offenses all over the league. A healthy Wildcats squad has the capacity to keep up with any team in the league.
10) Miami Hurricanes:
Miami might have lost some of its top players to the NFL Draft, such as Deejay Dallas and Shaquille Quarterman, but the Hurricanes still have a host of returning talent. Second-year coach Manny Diaz’s squad just has to find consistency and they will be contending for ACC Championships in no time.
