Brazil international Willian has signed a three-year deal to join us ahead of the 2020/21 season.
The 32-year-old forward has a wealth of experience and has made more than 600 club appearances in a career spanning 13 seasons. Willian scored 63 goals in 339 appearances for Chelsea after his arrival from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013.
Twice a Premier League winner with the Blues, he will add experience to an Arsenal side full of talented youngsters in Bukayo Saka, Joe Willock, Gabriel Martinelli, and Reiss Nelson.
“I believe he’s a player that can really make a difference for us,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said in a statement on the club’s website.
He has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and the Champions League, in his seven years at Chelsea. He made 339 appearances during this period, with 63 goals and 56 assists.

“I think he’s a talent who will always make a difference for us,” said Mikel Arteta. “We’ve been watching him over the last several months, we’ve had a strong aim to reinforce the central midfielder and winger roles [and] he’s a guy who offers us lots of flexibility, he will play in three or four different places.

Willian made 70 appearances for Brazil and scored nine times, marking his international debut in 2011. Since then, he has represented his nation at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, the 2015 Copa America, the Copa America Centenario, and the 2019 Copa America where he was a core member of the team that lifted the trophy to home soil.
The Spaniard is also working towards tying down striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to a new three-year contract as Arsenal. He will wear the number 12 shirt.
