HALF TIME the score btwn Goa 1-1 FC Pune City. Both the teams are looking for improvements on their previous performances which resulted in losses for both the teams. While Goa were beaten away by NorthEast United, Pune City were overpowered at home by their Maharashtra rivals Mumbai City FC.
Coach of the home team, Zico, has major defensive worries as the top three defenders are sidelined with injuries in the match, making Lucio the only key defender in the team.
ARATA Izumi is the goalscorer. He was at the right place at the right time. The ball deflected off the goalkeeper after a thunderous shot by Jonatan Lucca. Goa are having more possession and the attacks are dissipating from Pune.
The visitors are being held aloft only by Edel’s vigil at goal. The attacks are pelting down on the Pune box. Most of their attacks are not working out because of a serious lack of communication at the end. Both the teams are on attack mode now they want to take the lead as the clock reads 75 minutes at present.
During the end of half time the referee didn’t blow the whistle for penalty. The ball very clearly hit the hand of Eduardo but the referee was not in a good position to see that and he blew for half-time. Both teams have started the second half on a very positive note and it seems to be pretty end-to-end at the moment.
Final whistle blown by the referee and Pune will be very happy to get this victory as NDOYE scored in the dying minutes of the game. Ndoye was the one to put the ball back in the net in 88th minute of the game. FINAL SCORE REMAINS 2-1.
Goa manager Zico said, “This is just the beginning of the league. The first year too we started the league with a defeat but later we overcame it. We have to keep going to work on that,”
