The Blues will be looking for a new forward when the transfer market opens this summer.
One position that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard wanted to sort in the January transfer window was a new forward.
The Blues were linked with several players, including Dries Mertens and Edinson Cavani, however, no transfer came through in the end.
With the contract of Olivier Giroud running out this summer and Michy Batshuayi likely set for an exit, a new striker might be on the cards once again.
And there will be several players linked with a move to Stamford Bridge once again, with Moussa Dembele from Lyon having been tipped as the leading contender.

However, another name has been thrown into the mix as according to The Sun, the Blues are interested in Gian-Luca Waldschmidt from Freiburg.
But who is the German forward?
The German-made his first senior appearance for Eintracht Frankfurt in 2015 against Borussia Dortmund, coming on in the 73rd minute during a 2-0 loss.
However, a year later Waldschmidt was sold to Hamburger and didn’t score his first Bundesliga goal until 2017 when he netted during a 2-1 win over Wolfsburg.

In 2018, he was transferred to Freiburg and this season has had a more productive campaign, with five Bundesliga goals and another assist.
The 23-year-old also made his international debut for Germany when he started a friendly against Argentina in October 2019.
However, it was the U21s European Championships last season where the striker really came to the fore, netting seven goals in five games for his country.
Gian-Luca Waldschmidt ended the 2019 UEFA U-21 European Championship as the tournament's top goalscorer.

Waldschmidt likes to play in between the lines and even pick up the ball in space between the front line and midfield, meaning Lampard might have another option in the number ten role.
Now the Blues are being linked with a potential £20million move for the forward as Lampard looks to bolster his squad.
